The Twilight Saga : Breaking Dawn Part 2 Review
A Worthwhile ending to a So-So series
3/4 Stars
So, it has finally happened. The end of Twilight. For some of you, that's a sigh of relief, and for others, its a very sad thing. Well, regardless of your opinion, it's an undeniable fact that so far these five movies have raked in over 1 billion dollars at the box office, and Part 2 will easily gain more throughout the months. Even though Twilight is fairly even with money compared to the Harry Potter franchise, it never got rated well with critics. Which is understandable because these movies aren't the most well made. Here is the plot:
Continuing where we left off in Part 1 of Breaking Dawn, Part 2 starts out with newly vampire/mother Bella. She is incredibly fast, strong, and extremely observant to details of things. She and Edward embrace for the first time since her transformation, and head downstairs to see their daughter, Renessme, who is still a baby. She finds out however, (told in Part 1), that Jacob has imprinted upon her. This upsets Bella but she realizes there is nothing she can do about it. As time goes on, their daughter, Reneesme, is rapidly growing. One day Bella, Renessme, and Jacob are in the forest, and a fellow vampire sees them with the child. Concerned about the girl, she flees and tells the Volturi that she thinks the Cullen’s have an immortal child, who are very destructive vampires. The Volturi are upset, and plan to confront them. Alice sees this in her visions and warns of this happening. Now Bella and her whole family must circle the globe and recruit vampires to fight against the Volturi and save her family.
As with every one of these movies, there are some very awkward lines (even cringe-worthy) at parts. There is though, tension which makes the movie enjoyable enough and leads to the rather intense climatic fight scene. I'm not saying I want this at the Academy Awards, but this entry is certainly worthwhile to see. It actually gives the movie a few themes and points, the main one being that love is infinite and lasts forever. Oh, and even if you think these movies are horrible, fine, but don't make fun of other people who do enjoy it. That is simply just being a good person if you respect what other people like, even if you don't enjoy that particular thing. So, I guess this is goodbye to another mega franchise.
